Just before Christmas 2025 we started a collection for the Lowestoft Food Bank. After a flurry of donations of festive fayre we decided to continue the appeal after Christmas focussing on foodstuffs to satisfy day to day family needs. Two of our PCC members who organised it made up a large box to collect the donations, which, over a few weeks, has gradually filled up. The first delivery to the Food Bank was made in January for which they were very grateful. The photo below shows the donations received so far.
If you wish to make any donations to the Food Bank you can drop your item(s) off at church any day of the week or bring them along to any of the services during the month and place them in the box provided. The items that the Food Bank would appreciate are:
Tins – Soup, ham, tuna, meat meals, vegetables and potatoes, tomatoes, fruit, custard, rice pudding.
Packets – Rice, pasta, tea, sugar, cereals, biscuits, long life juice.
Jars – Coffee, pasta sauce.
Others – Instant mash potato, gravy mix, UHT milk.
We will ensure that the goods are taken to the Food Bank regularly. Thank you for your donations and support for those finding it difficult to provide wholesome meals for themselves or their families particularly during the winter months.
