The Longshoremen shanty singers came to Lound on Saturday 6th July, and gave us a terrific afternoon’s entertainment – everybody loved them. The weather outside was really awful, and there were lots of other competing attractions on that afternoon – Wimbledon and the Euro football to name but two! However, we had a good audience which was most appreciative, and it was all a great success, raising just over £200.
Massive thanks to the Longshoremen themselves, and to everyone who helped with the organisation and advertising, and with the splendid refreshments which were served (and nearly all disappeared!) during the interval.
